Every year, the Griffin-Spalding Education Foundation hosts a golf tournament in the Griffin area to raise funds for the projects of the Education Foundation. 

"We are fortunate that many companies, civic clubs, and individuals support this golf tournament every year," Byron Brock, chair of the 2006 and 2007 tournament, said. "It's an opportunity to have fun on the golf course while contributing to grants awarded by the Education Foundation to Griffin-Spalding schools and teachers. All of the funds raised, typically about $8,000, go into the grants-to-schools program."

Dr. Jesse Bradley, former superintendent, said, "We are grateful for the leadership and support of the Education Foundation for the school system and teachers. They will spend their time and donate resources to support the school system. That means a lot to our community."
