When is the application window for 2011-2012 School Year?

What is a Partners in Education (PIE) Mini-grant?
A mini-grant of $300 or less awarded to Griffin-Spalding County School System instructional staff for creative, innovative educational projects for which funding is not available through regular school sources.  Grants are awarded on a competitive basis. 

Materials or equipment obtained through mini-grants are the property of the school or the educational program which received the grant.

Who is eligible to receive a Partners in Education Mini-grant?
The instructional staff of the Griffin-Spalding County School System.

What is the Partners in Education Mini-grant application process?
Application forms are submitted on this website to the Griffin Spalding Partners in Education.   The last day to submitt proposal is February 5, 2012 extended to March 2.  Applicants will be notified of the results by the end of February.

Each recipient will be required to complete an evaluation of the project for use by Griffin-Spalding Partners in Education.

Mini-grant evaluations due to School and Community Services

What are the criteria and how are Partners in Education Mini-grants awarded?*
A mini-grant review committee of community and school system representatives appointed by the Griffin Spalding Partners in Education Board of Directors will read and evaluate each mini-grant proposal and determine the proposals to be funded.  The committee will rank the proposals received on the following criteria:

  1. Application is completed appropriately.
  2. Project supports school/school system goal(s).
  3. Project incorporates a partnership/collaboration.
  4. Project enriches the educational experience for students.
  5. Project is creative.
  6. Project has realistic objectives.
  7. Project is cost-effective.
  8. Project challenges students.
  9. Budget is complete and reasonable.
